Intimacy: Your SoulCollage® Barometer

Intimacy.

Hmmm?

How does it relate to SoulCollage®?

Whenever we refer to intimacy, we refer to being intimate in relationship to somebody else. Yet to a card how is this possible?

Regarding SoulCollage®, the intimacy refers to the “I” that I must get to know. Fundamentally it is through an image that we connect with our source of self. This is the One I must get to know.

Seena Frost, the creator of SoulCollage® stressed the importance of focusing on one Neter at a time. Making that Neter, that energy, that one image the main attraction when making a card. Her philosophy on creating cards was: “The simpler the better,” which includes a background and its focus. Devoid of distractions the one-image card makes it easier to deliver its message. Makes it easier for you to receive and understand the wisdom it imparts.

In making my own cards I have found this idea of “the simpler the better” powerful. The image pierces the heart of the matter. The image/message clear and succinct every time.

How do we form a relationship to our cards? Start compiling a Committee Suit.

These are the collaged cards that represent your emotional-relational self, which combine your choices, preferences, tastes, desires, fears, strengths, weaknesses, and opinions which mould each one of us into the man or the woman we become.

"I am the One who might look different but I bleed just the same."

“I am the One who might look different but I bleed just the same.”

This Suit speaks about and from your personality animated in the world. This Suit refers to your social face, the personification formed from experiences, and how you respond to the world according to the circumstances you find yourself in.

They are character formations, influenced by upbringing, tradition, culture, relationships, beliefs, and past-lives (if you believe in more than one), which create an individuated self.

The Committee Suit is your psychological portrait, portrayed using images chosen by you, cut and pasted to make one part of the whole of your SoulCollage® deck.

The collage-images that comprise your Committee Suit is where your Angry Self, your Fashionista, your Happy Child, Inner Monk, the Joker in you, the nurturing Mother or Father, reveal themselves. The list is immense making this Suit one of the longest in number compared to the Community, Council and Animal Companion Suits that make up your entire deck.

The Committee Suit is extensive because there are so many facets to our personality. Each one of us a unique and multi-faceted personality which seeks expression in a world brimming with possibility.

As you make a card for each one of your Neters, you acknowledge that energy as a part of you. When you begin to speak from the card, it references a higher wisdom than what your left brain conceives.

My Perfectionist Self

My Perfectionist Self

These Neters both Light and Shadow are our informants, cluing us when certain archetypal energies supress or overpower one another. Like landmarks, they bring us to a place of awareness so that the selfish, inconsiderate, unbalanced parts of our personalities, rise to consciousness.

Aware of this part of our nature we can regroup and re-align ourselves, understand that the effort benefits not just this self but influences our circle of family and friends, and society at large. We strive not just for the sake of one but the many, to co-exist humanely with the rest of the world.

Whether I want to hear it or not, I’ve found with my cards that they make no bones about what they mean. At times the message can be a hard pill to swallow. The truth causing me to cry. But this only means the process works, and doing what it should: breaking through the barrier that prevents me from healing, from growth, from compassion.

At other times what I think the card represents, or I assume I know, isn’t so. The message from I Am The One Who… always surprises.

So be prepared not to know.

Surrender to the image before you. Allow the image on the card to offer what it was conceived to do.

I find that it’s all compassionately conceived to make me aware of what I’m up to.

What does SoulCollage® have to do with intimacy?

Everything that involves me, from the chosen images and their colours, to the individual subject matter and objects preferred. Every facet connects me to the Source, my higher self. The images reach out to me whenever I intend to make a card. They are the link to the parts of myself I gradually come to trust as a source of knowing.

No one other than myself is the expert of my life. So what better person to turn to for advice than the One who lives here?

Form the bond. Strengthen the relationship. Name your cards. Ask each one what it has to offer.

Kindle the intimacy. Remember that as much as you’re willing to give equals how much you receive.

So benefit: Befriend yourself. Relate to your cards. Who else knows you best?

Top Tip: You are the expert of your life. Acknowledge and trust what you know. Ask your Neters who supports you.
