About
This year, having moved to Ireland in May I’m charting new territory. Usually at a mature age people settle down and feel comfortable with house and home knowing family lives nearby. In my case and my husband’s, we scout our new Irish neighbourhood to make friends and be considered friends.
Regarding myself, I need to cultivate the soil beneath my feet here in Westport. Plant my seedlings to grow roots so my career as an artist and SoulCollage® Facilitator flourishes.
Left to Right: Luah Galvao, Limor Sadot, Brigita Slavinské, Ana Gois Soares, Maria Carvalho (wearing white-rimmed glasses), Trainer Linda Woolfson, and Ivette Ebaen.
Yes I have a Masters in Transpersonal Studies and the Creative Arts, from Atlantic University, Virginia Beach, VA. Wrote a transpersonal novel for my thesis, exhibited my paintings and drawings, became a skincare specialist, a licensed massage therapist, and taught hatha yoga. I worked with Hospice caring for the elderly, taught GED, managed adult education programs, and was a youth counsellor.
I delved into pastry arts at Le Notre in Paris, France, explored photography, textile arts, quilting and mixed-media; am practicing haiku, Shahai, Miksang, creative writing; even got certified to do Journal to the Self workshops from the Centre for Journal Therapy with Kathleen Adams.
I managed to spend years meditating and co-existing in spiritual communities. Finding myself in the company of enlightened masters such as Swami Satchidananda, Heart Master Adida Samraj, His Holiness the Dalai Lama, and practicing mindfulness with spiritual activist and poet Thich Nhat Hanh, I can’t imagine life without dharma.
Born in New York, I’ve travelled and moved around the world from South America to China. Visited New Zealand, Finland and Spain. Got trained in Portugal and lived in France, and had open-heart surgery in Germany. I spent a great deal of life in California then Taos, New Mexico; from there to the island of Cyprus, then the French canton of Switzerland, to migrate to the western shores of Ireland we now call home.
Moving from place to place I carried Seena B. Frost’s book with me. During those fifteen years, I’d open to a chapter, browse through the information, wondered if I’d ever use it, but somehow never got rid of her book!
A year ago, while participating in one of Christine Paintner’s online retreats from Abbey of the Arts, included was a project using SoulCollage®. Hooked on the process, I wanted to learn more. I had Seena’s book and started making cards and doing readings on my own.
Now six months later, a SoulCollage® Facilitator certificate under my belt, 130 cards to my personal deck, I am holding sessions in my studio.
Amirrorself.com is part of this flourishing and venturing out into the world with the help of SoulCollage®, and my SoulCollage® community.
As a fulltime artist, the cards I make and exhibit here are meant to stimulate not intimidate. My hope for you is that this site educates, influences, sparks your creativity.
Join one of my groups, partake in a themed workshop, a weekend, or five-day retreat.
